Membership Details
The Centre is open throughout the year, but the opening times vary according to the season. During the winter season (mid Sept to mid April) the Indoor Club is open 7 days a week and you can bowl in 2 hour sessions from 10.00 a.m. up to 10.00 p.m. In the summer season (April to October) bowls sessions are currently offered on Monday and Thursday mornings and Wednesday evenings. Indoor Club (WIBC)
The WIBC offers a wide range of bowls from informal roll-ups with friends to competitive matches; something to suit all skill levels. With about 600 members (350 men and 250 ladies) the Club organises a programme over the 7 days offering a full range of bowls, so whether you want to play the traditional game, or you fancy Australian pairs or prefer playing sets, we have something to offer. Additionally there are regular club sessions (Monday Club and Thursday Club) to help you to get to know and play with current members.
On joining you will be provided with an individual locker and key so you can keep your bowls and shoes safely in the Club. We also offer *temporary membership (refundable on joining as a full member) to anyone new to the indoor game which gives them 4 taster sessions accompanied by a member coach to ensure a happy introduction to all our facilities. Junior members are most welcome.
To make your visit even more enjoyable, catering and bar services are available to help you socialise before and after your game.
The cost of membership, and other ancillary charges, and as follows:
Joining Fee (includes the outdoor club) £30.00. There is no joining fee for junior members.
Temporary Membership* £10.00 (returnable on joining as a full member).
Annual Subscription:
Full Playing Member £70.00. Social member (non-playing) £10.00. Junior members (under 18) £15.00
Green Fees and other charges
2 hour session: Full playing member £1.50. Members Guest £2.00. Visitors £3.00.
Club Drives - 4 hours with tea and biscuits £4.00.
Club competitions - 4 hour session - Singles, Pairs, Triples or Fours. £3.00
Club competitions – 2 hour session - Plate or Backbone £1.50.
County and National competitions - 4 hour session - Members £3.00. Visitors £3.50.
Hire of bowls – 2 hour session £0.50.
Green Fee vouchers are available at a discount.
