MEMBERSHIP DETAILS
The Centre is open throughout the year and the opening times vary according to the season. During the summer season, between April and the end of september, the normal opening time is 1000 to 2200 and informal roll-up bowls sessions are offered on Monday and Thursday afternoons and Friday evenings. League matches take place on Tuesday Mornings. However, except when inter-club matches take place, one or two rinks are usually available for casual bowling and personal practice.
A wide range of bowling is available from informal roll-ups with friends to competitive matches: something to suit all skill levels. With about 65 members (about equally divided between gentlemen and ladies) the Club organises a programme to suit all levels of skill and formality.
On joining you will be provided with an individual locker and key so you can keep your bowls and shoes safely at the Club. We also offer *temporary membership (refundable on joining) to anyone new to the game which gives them 4 "trial" sessions accompanied by a member coach to ensure a happy introduction to all our facilities.
Although, during the summer months, the bar and catering facilities are not operated on a permanent basis, the bar is opened for formal matches and for social events. Catering is provided by club members for roll-ups, League matches and matches against other clubs.
There is no rink fee for playing on the outdoor green, so all you pay is the membership fee and an annual subscrition which lasts for afull 12 months. However, if you wish to play indoors during the winter months you have to join the Indoor Club.
In poor weather members have the option to play indoors, but in this case a fee of £1.50 per session is payable.
